2nd and 5th Grade

2nd Grade – All our students learn about our National Anthem each year.  In second grade, students spend time practicing the difficult vocabulary so that they are able to sing and perform all the lyrics in their best singing voices.

5th Grade – Performing choreography is one of the many musical skills we cover in class.  I learned this fun choreographed dance from another teacher in Cobb County was excited to share it with 4th and 5th graders.  Here is an excerpt of Ms. Rich’s 5th grade class performing our dance to go with “Hair Up” from the movie “Trolls.”

Videos from the Past Week

some fun things from the past week in music class:

4th GRADE – students were leading themselves in a game of “4 Beats After” which is an improvised body percussion game that also prepares students for rounds.  Notice how my leader changes the rhythms on the class as she goes and notice how the class keeps up, too!  Super challenging!

2nd GRADE – We’re getting ready for the musical this week.  Here is one of our classes getting ready wiht “In The Wild.”

KINDERGARTEN – we were making steady beat dances using Quaver’s Body Percussion Dance Maker.  Students got to come up and make simple dance patterns for their class to perform along with the steady beat.
