This week Cora from Mrs. Chaney’s  2nd grade class was my Rocky Mount Foundation Sponsored music assistant for the day.  She did a fabulous job leading games, teaching the class, and learning what it’s like to be a music teacher!  Congratulations Cora!

CONGRATS CHORUS!

Last night the Roadrunner Chorus finished their season with an amazing performance.  I am so proud of the hard work they have put in this year and how much they  have achieved!  Our pizza party celebration will be on April 12th after school, don’t forget!

 

MUSIC ASSISTANT OF THE WEEK

Oliver from Mrs. Brook’s class was my music assistant this past week.  He won the opportunity to be my assistant through our Foundation-sponsored auction last fall.  He had a busy (but fun!) day of passing out materials, leading games, and teaching the class!

 

CULTURAL PERFORMING ARTISTS AT ROCKY MOUNT

On March 16th we had two special guest to help us celebrate cultures from around the world.  David Holland presented his performance titled “GloboDRUM” which took the students on a journey around the world to experience the role of music in many different cultures.  Later in the day, students enjoyed a performance by the Drake School of Irish Dance.  Some of our students even got to come up and learn a simple jig!

Just a reminder that Mr. G and the music program are selling tickets to the March 17 Gladiators Hockey Game to raise money for the music program.  The Roadrunner Chorus will be performing “God Bless America” at the game and there are always lots of fun prizes and games for the family!
